Kampala, December 26, 2018 (SSNA) — In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, a former intelligence officer with the Ugandan external security branch has criticized Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, saying the East African region is being destroyed by leaders who suffer from “grandiosity disorder” and “paranoia.” The ex-spy blasted both Ugandan and South Sudanese leaders and calls on other East African leaders, African Union (AU), and the international community to rescue the people of South Sudan from “these East African vicious tyrants.”
James Moises, who worked for Uganda’s External Security Organization (ESO), said he is not surprised to see report after report pointing finger at the Ugandan President. He said he knows Uganda is busy days and nights supplying weapons and ammunition to South Sudan’s government despite the United Nations, the United States, and European Union arms embargoes. James suggests that the best way for lasting peace to return to South Sudan is for other East African leaders to tell Museveni that his meddling in South Sudan’s internal affairs for over five years is enough and that the blood money he has been receiving from South Sudanese President Salva Kiir in exchange for his protection is also enough.
“Those who think there will be a real peace in South Sudan are dreaming. You cannot expect peace when we have two leaders who are suffering from grandiosity disorder and paranoia,” James told the South Sudan News Agency (SSNA) in Kampala.
The former intelligence operative described Museveni and Kiir as the East African regional dictators.
“These East African vicious tyrants kill their people like animals. They deserve to be forced out of power, by all means, necessary, if we want the region to have peace,” he added.
James Moises was the first foreigner who exposed Museveni and Kiir’s plan months before the civil war broke out in December 2013. He recently accused Uganda of working against peace in the young nation by secretly training at least 1,300 snipers as part of his deal with Kiir and revealed the new snipers were deployed to predetermined places around Juba in September.
James Moises has in the past explained to the SSNA that he declared war against Museveni because his “South Sudanese brothers and sisters” are being killed by Kiir because of Museveni’s influence. He claims his previous work as an intelligence officer positioned him well against the Ugandan leader and that James Moises is not his real name.
He, however, admitted that he choose the name to help hide his true identity. He also declared that Ugandan President will never find him and that the “old man will leave the earth” before he figures out his true identity.
A recent report by the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey also accused Uganda of buying weapons and ammunition on behalf of South Sudan in total disregard of arms bans imposed on South Sudan.
